France is preparing an official visit of President Emmanuel Macron to Ukraine as soon as possible, but the date has not yet been determined due to coronavirus crisis.
"Emmanuel Macron confirms his desire to make a visit to Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelensky as soon as possible. The possible specific date is still being determined, but it is difficult to say more precisely because of coronavirus crisis which somewhat disrupts the plans. But such an intention persists," Ambassador of France to Ukraine Etienne de Poncins said at a press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As reported, Macron's visit to Ukraine was discussed at a meeting between Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of France Emmanuel Bonn in Paris in June.
Earlier, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar and Ambassador of France to Ukraine Etienne de Poncins discussed preparation of the visit of President Emmanuel Macron to Kyiv at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelensky. In April, Macron confirmed his intention to visit Ukraine as soon as the coronavirus pandemic ended.
