Washington beefs up security ahead of Biden's Inauguration Day.
WITH the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden less than a week away, officials are implementing unprecedented security measures amid warnings of possible attacks by groups involved in the January 6 pro-Trump siege of the Capitol.
Security enhancements include road closures and the deployment of 20,000 National Guards.
The perimeter of a high fence surrounding the Capitol was pushed out to encompass the U.S. Supreme Court and the Library of Congress.
Hotels, airlines and other businesses have also ramped up security, with several boarding up their storefronts.
