Earthquake survivor pulled from rubble of building in southeastern Turkey.

AT LEAST 641 people have been killed after a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey.

Horror pictures show the devastation as buildings collapsed crushing and trapping people inside at 4am local time.

The enormous quake - the biggest to hit the country in 100 years - also caused devastation in neighbour Syria.

Rescuers are now digging through the rubble as the death toll expected to rise.

The record was were felt as far away as Egypt and on the island of Cyprus.

And the quake struck just before dawn, with its epicenter near the town of Nurdagi, Turkey.

The ground began to shake as many people were still asleep in their beds and unable to flee.

It had a depth of some 15 miles, according to the United States Geological Survey.
