Ukraine has officially withdrawn from the Agreement on the main directions of cooperation between the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the field of consumer protection.
The withdrawal from the agreement is stipulated in Law of Ukraine No.1551-IX, which was published in the Holos Ukrainy parliamentary newspaper on July 3. The law enters into force on the day following the day of its publication.
The agreement on the main directions of cooperation of the CIS member states in the field of consumer protection was concluded in Moscow on January 25, 2000 and ratified by the law as of March 7, 2002.
The law on Ukraine's withdrawal from this agreement was signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky on June 15.
As reported, Ukraine announced a decision to quit the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2014. In 2019, Ukraine completed the process of quitting the coordination bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
