Zelensky lays flowers at monument to Afghan war veterans.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has honored the memory of Ukrainians who were killed during the war in Afghanistan, the press service of the head of state has reported.

"On the eve of the Day of Commemoration of Combatants in Other States, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky paid tribute to Ukrainians who died during the war in Afghanistan," the report reads.

It notes that the president took part in a ceremony held near the memorial to Ukrainian citizens who died in Afghanistan.

Together with soldiers from a guard of honor, the head of state laid flowers at the sculpture in the memorial.

Ukraine marks the Day of Commemoration of Combatants in Other States on February 15.
