More than 11,000 land agreements registered in Ukraine.

As of August 31, Ukraine registered 11,017 agreements on the purchase and sale of agricultural land, Ukrinform reports, referring to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

"The Ministry of Agrarian Policy reports that as of today, 11,017 transactions have been concluded since the launch of the land market," reads the report.

According to the ministry, 4,822 notaries submitted applications for access to the State Land Cadastre.

The total number of applications is 5,412. Of these, 4,777 applications were approved, whereas 626 were rejected.

According to the ministry, 24,083 hectares of agricultural land have been already sold throughout Ukraine since July 1. The largest areas of farmland were sold in Poltava region – almost 2,768 hectares, Kharkiv region – more than 2,666 hectares. At the same time, only 78.2 hectares of farmland were sold in Ivano-Frankivsk region and 90.5 hectares in Chernivtsi region. In Kyiv city, 6.7 hectares of farmland were sold.

As reported, Ukraine officially launched the land market on July 1. Until 2024, only Ukrainian citizens will be able to buy agricultural land - up to 100 hectares per person. The issue of selling land to citizens without Ukrainian citizenship and foreigners will be decided only in a nationwide referendum.
