Unfortunately for those in Scotland and Northern Ireland, some cloud will dampen the spirits with some rain on Saturday before clearing up later.

Met Office meteorologist, Helen Roberts, said: “It’s more of the same for the rest of the day, lots of warm sunshine and a largely dry and bright picture for most of the UK.

“Overnight it will go quite chilly owing to clear skies but that should warm up quickly tomorrow with for many lots of nice warm sunshine around, with a band of rain in northwest Scotland.

The Met Office website said most of Britain is set for “plenty of sunshine and warmth” over the coming days.

It added that next week will bring: “Predominantly settled conditions across the UK, with any wet and windy weather confined to the far north.
