The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will decide on a cooperation program for Ukraine after Kyiv fulfills all the prerequisites.

Currently, IMF representatives continue work with Ukraine, the RBC-Ukraine media outlet reported, citing IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva as saying at an event at Peterson Institute for International Economics, Washington, D.C., on January 17.

"We have concluded a staff-level agreement with Ukraine in which there are particular conditions that need to be met. Work is ongoing and our staff continues to be engaged with Ukraine. Once these conditions are met – that would be a moment for us to go to our Board of Directors," she said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on December 8, Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund reached a staff-level agreement on a new cooperation program. Later, the IMF specified that "all of this is contingent on approval by [the IMF's] Executive Board in the period ahead."
