Russian-led forces have shelled the village of Verkhniotoretske in Donetsk region, resulting in a local resident was wounded.

At about 17:00 Kyiv time, the armed forces of the Russian Federation opened fire on Verkhniotoretske, which is located near the contact line, as reported by the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation on Facebook.

It is noted the residential sector was shelled from tripod-mounted man-portable antitank guns.

"As a result of a grenade rupture, a local female resident who at that moment was in the infield of her house received a shrapnel wound to her leg," reads the report.

The woman was taken to a hospital in the town of Toretsk and provided with medical assistance.
