EU should supply Ukraine with Patriot and other air defence systems from its arsenals - Borrell.

The European Union cannot rely solely on the United States to provide Ukraine with military assistance, including air defence systems. Europe needs to take responsibility, get these systems out of its warehouses and give them to Ukraine.

This was stated by EU High Representative Josep Borrell in Capri, Italy, before the meeting of the G7 foreign ministers, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"They have (these systems). But we cannot rely on the United States alone. We have to take our responsibility and stop saying the United States has to do something... We have to do it. We have Patriot, other air defence systems. We have to get them out of our warehouses, where they are "just in case", and transfer them to Ukraine, where the war is raging. I am convinced that we will do it, but we have to do it quickly," Borrell stressed.

The EU High Representative regretted that domestic politics in the United States had delayed the provision of assistance to Ukraine.

According to him, in this situation, no amount of aid will be enough for Ukraine, but it would be better if there was more.

"I was in Washington, and I said at the time: look, what is happening in Europe matters to you and to everyone. So this (a $60 billion package from the US for Ukraine - ed.) is the first step. But I don't want to talk about what the US is doing or not doing. I am not responsible for US policy, I am responsible for European policy," Borrell added.
