The Ukraine National Guard and Ukrainian Voluntary Unit 'Charter' have released video they said showed units hitting Russian positions in the eastern city of Bakhmut.
The videos, released on Wednesday (February 1) and Thursday (February 2), showed smoke rising and damage to a building.
Reuters was able to confirm the location from the design and shape of the buildings seen in the videos which matched file and satellite imagery of the area.
Ukrainians will fight "for as long as we can" to hold Bakhmut, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy vowed on Friday (February 3), as he hosted European Union leaders to discuss further sanctions on Russia and Kyiv's EU prospects.
Moscow says a major objective in Ukraine is securing the rest of Donetsk province, one of four it claimed to have unilaterally annexed last year. Its forces have claimed incremental gains over the past week around Bakhmut.
