Health workers climbed hills covered with snow and crossed rivers to reach villagers for a door-to-door COVID-19 vaccination drive in far-flung areas of India's Jammu and Kashmir territory.
Indian army personnel escorted health workers to villages of the territory's Baramulla district and gave shots to the residents after hiking through a tough and snow-filled terrain.
About 70% of India's 939 million adult population has received two primary vaccine doses. A booster campaign for health workers and the at-risk population is underway.
