A huge crowd of devotees flocked to a Hindu temple in India's southern Madurai city August 12, 2022, to take part in a chariot festival that was held after a two-year gap, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Devotees from different parts of Tamil Nadu state came, pulled a huge, decorated chariot of the Hindu god, Lord Kallazhagar, and performed rituals during the procession as they celebrated the ninth day of the 10-day festival.
The festival is held during the auspicious Tamil month of Aadi in July and August according to Hindu religious calendar.
