NATO Troops Perform Air Assault Training in Romania - VOA News.

U.S. and Romanian forces conducted air assault training as part of NATO military drills on the eastern flank Friday, in the Romanian air base in Constanta.

Troops from the U.S. 101st Airborne began arriving in Romania at the end of June last year, part of a mission to bolster NATO forces in the region, reassure allies and deter further Russian aggression, the U.S. Army in Europe said on its website.

The U.S. and other western members of NATO deployed more troops to members on the alliance's eastern flank both in reaction to Russia's troop build-up on Ukraine's borders and its invasion in February. (Reuters)
