Poll shows which city in Russia is most likely to support the war against Ukraine.

Residents of Moscow are the most supportive of Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine. The Russian capital is also home to more opponents of peace talks.

Residents of Russian villages are somewhat less bloodthirsty. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Levada Center.

Thus, according to the survey, 56% of Muscovites are in favor of continuing the war . The start of peace talks is supported by 39% of the residents of the Russian capital .

This ratio mirrors the mood in Russia as a whole , where 58% of respondents support peace talks (the highest figure for the entire war), and 37% want the fighting to continue .

It is noteworthy that in Russian villages , Putin's war against Ukraine is supported the least – about 30% , while 55% of Russians living in rural areas support peace talks.

There is also a correlation between "belligerence" and financial status: among wealthier Russians, 40% are in favor of hostilities (3% more than in the country as a whole), while 55% of wealthy Russian citizens are in favor of negotiations (3% less than the national figure).

Those who have only enough money to buy food are the least likely to want a war: 31% of them are in favor of hostilities, and 64% are in favor of negotiations .

Other aspects of the survey are also noteworthy. For example, 65% of Russians believe that it is not their country that is responsible for the deaths and destruction in Ukraine , but the United States and NATO countries . Every tenth Russian accuses Ukraine of being attacked by Russia and of killing and destroying it for years, while 8% do not see any specific culprits , and only 6% believe Russia is responsible for what is happening .

One-third of Russians believe that Russia's possible use of nuclear weapons in a war against Ukraine is justified , while 52% of respondents share the opposing opinion .

Most of the supporters of continuing the war, blaming the Western countries for Russian aggression and its consequences, and the "nuclear apocalypse" are among older people who support Putin's regime and trust TV.

But young people under the age of 24 are the least interested in the war, especially those young Russians who get their information from YouTube. In the same age group, more people can put 2+2 together and know the real culprit of the bloody massacre taking place in the center of Europe and understand the consequences of the possible use of nuclear weapons.

The day before, on July 4, at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Kazakhstan, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that he wanted to return to the "Istanbul agreements ", which he said were still "on the table". He also habitually lied that the talks back in the spring of 2022 were allegedly disrupted by Ukraine "on direct orders from London, which means from Washington."

Putin also refused to cease fire in Ukraine. According to him, this should be done by Ukraine, and Moscow will see if it is "acceptable to the Russian Federation." The dictator also said that in the event of a ceasefire, the Ukrainian Armed Forces would be able to build up their strength, "and Russia cannot allow this under any circumstances."
