Germany will not give Taurus to Ukraine. We don’t want to allow war between Russia and NATO - Scholz
Chancellor Olaf Scholz reiterated his refusal to provide Ukraine with Taurus missiles.
He said this in an interview with Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung, Censor.NET reports.
"As head of government, I have to take responsibility in matters of war and peace, as well as in matters of security in Europe - and this also applies to the Taurus issue. In addition to strong support for Ukraine, one thing remains important to me: we will do everything possible to prevent an escalation of the war - that is, the war between Russia and NATO," the Chancellor explained.
Scholz also said that Germany would not send its military to Ukraine.
"At the same time, Germany supports Ukraine with weapons and ammunition more than any other European country. We spend over 28 billion euros on this alone. More than in many other countries combined. And we will continue to do so for as long as it takes," he added.
