According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, according to preliminary information, the hit was recorded in an open area on the territory of an educational institution.

"There is information about two injured children – boys aged 13 and 15. The examination by the specialized services is ongoing. One of them is in serious condition," the official said.

As of 14:10, the mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov, said that the number of victims had increased to five. These are three boys aged 12, 13, and 15, a man aged 55 and an 80-year-old woman.

In addition, according to the police, all specialized services, including police, medics, and rescuers, promptly arrived at the scene.

According to Volodymyr Tymoshko, the head of the Regional Police Department, the children injured in the Russian strike were playing football on the playground near the school when the shelling occurred. Two of them are in serious condition. They have damaged lungs, a traumatic amputation of a foot, and a head injury.

Preliminary, the Russians struck either with a missile or a drone – this will be determined by explosive experts.

As of 15:59, the National Police clarified that four people were injured in the shelling: A 55-year-old man, two boys born in 2009 and a boy born in 2010.

The latter was taken to a medical facility with explosive injuries. An 81-year-old woman had an acute stress reaction and refused hospitalization.

As a reminder, during the attack on May 8, the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, the occupiers struck an energy infrastructure facility in the Poltava region. A fire broke out there.

The invaders also tried to attack Kyiv with missiles, but air defense forces destroyed all targets. In the Kyiv region, a civilian infrastructure facility caught fire as a result of an enemy attack, and there were victims.

In addition, in the Kirovohrad region, Russian occupants hit a critical infrastructure facility during a missile attack. An 8-year-old child was injured.

On Wednesday, May 8, the aggressor country also launched missile attacks on energy facilities in the Carpathian region. This resulted in a fire.

In total, on the night of May 8, Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles from Tu-95MS and Kalibr missiles: energy facilities in several regions were hit.
