«Fighting continues» : Ukrainian Defense Forces deny information about Russian capture of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the morning, on May 8, information appeared on the Internet that the occupation army had allegedly captured Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region and that the Defense Forces had withdrawn from there. The fighting in the area of this settlement continues, and there is no confirmation of the enemy's capture of the village.

This was stated by Dmytro Pletenchuk, head of the Strategic Communications Center of the Southern Defense Forces, on the air of the "United News" telethon. He spoke about the situation in the Zaporizhzhia sector, in particular in Robotyne, and about the enemy's efforts to level this ledge, which Ukrainian defenders liberated last summer.

According to Pletenchuk, there was an assault in Robotyne yesterday, May 7, and this morning the enemy also conducted offensive actions.

"There were more attacks in Staromayorsk. However, the enemy did not succeed, and retreated with losses, and the situation there remained stable this morning. However, fighting continued in the morning," said Pletenchuk.

He also commented on the information about the capture of Robotyne by the Russians.

"According to the morning report that I studied, the positions remained under our control, so I cannot confirm this information for sure," Pletenchuk said.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region from Russian occupants in August 2023.
