The Latvian national soccer team scored the fastest own goal in its history. The episode took place in a friendly match against Liechtenstein.

At the 15th second, center back Marcis Ošs passed the ball to goalkeeper Pavels Steinborgs, who stumbled and missed the ball into the goal.

Despite having scored only one goal in their previous 15 matches, Liechtenstein failed to capitalize on this gift to win. Ten minutes later, Raymonds Krollis tied the game at 1-1 with a powerful shot under the crossbar.
