«No one expected it». Bellew is amazed by what Usyk did

Famous British super heavyweight Tony Bellew (30-3-1, 20 KOs) expressed his opinion on the upcoming fight for the title of absolute champion between Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). The former world champion urged not to write off the Ukrainian, given the amazing success with which he broke into the super-heavyweight division.

"He's going to beat Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia against all odds, acting as an underdog. Don't get me wrong, but he's not that much of an outsider. I know how good he is as a boxer. I was in the ring with him. But no one expected him to do what he did in the heavyweight division. It was also unexpected for me," Boxing Social quoted Bellew as saying.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, earlier Tony Bellew called the fight against Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) the most difficult in his career. According to the Briton, the referee of 2018 literally saved his life by stopping the fight in the eighth round.

We would like to remind you that the Usyk-Fury fight was originally scheduled for February 17, but Fury suffered a serious cut on February 2 during training. As a result, the fight was officially post poned to the spring of 2024.

Turki Al al-Sheikh, head of Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Entertainment, said the May 18 show will go ahead anyway. The organizer of the boxing evening in Riyadh has come up with a rule that will prevent the fight from being disrupted again.

In addition, Turki Al Al-Sheikh noted that either Usyk or Tyson will face a $10 million fine if either of them refuses to perform.

It is worth noting that recently the famous British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (34-14, 23 KOs) expressed confidence that the Ukrainian will win this fight, using a very specific tactic.

In early March, it became known that the World Boxing Council (WBC) supported the initiative that the winner of Fury-Usyk should fight Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs). At the same time, the organization confirmed that it had authorized two fights between the British and Ukrainian for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion.
