This British city recognized as one of the best places for living: what makes it so special.
The city of Leeds in West Yorkshire, UK, has been named one of the best places to live due to its accessibility, comfort, earnings and cultural development. It is a great place for people of all income levels, whether they are students or entrepreneurs.
The sister city of Ukraine's Kharkiv, although covering just about 2/3 of the area of Kyiv, is famous for its five universities, a college and a professional dance school, which indicates a frenetic youth and teenage life. Leeds was awarded the status of the best city in England and one of the best in the world by The Sunday Times, the Express reports.
According to the source, Leeds has the best-paying jobs outside of London and is the second largest center of financial and legal activity in the country after the capital. Every year, about 60 thousand students choose this city in the middle of England for further education and life.
Thanks to the influence of young people, Leeds is constantly evolving. The streets of the city are bustling with life, with new bars and restaurants opening regularly. Leeds is one of the few cities that can boast of opera, ballet, and theater companies as their presence outside the capital is rare.
One of the main streets located next to the railway, Briggate, is a shopping hotspot. In particular, you can find two shopping and entertainment centers with stores of global and local brands.
However, if you walk a little deeper into the neighborhood, you will find Leeds Kirkgate, one of the largest indoor markets in Europe.
The city can boast of its more or less comfortable climate as the temperature rarely reaches more than 30°C in summer and more than -10°C in winter. Due to the comfortable conditions, Leeds does not seem to be located in the UK because it does not suffer from the famous English rains.
