Makeup like models: the makeup artist told how to achieve the perfect look.

The trends of the turbulent 90s are back. It's time to remember what makeup trends were set by supermodels Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Cindy Crawford. Fashion is cyclical, so trends from 30 years ago are gaining relevance again.

Makeup artist Leela Childs said that 90s-style makeup has become mainstream. Back then, a more natural satin or matte skin finish was in demand, rather than overly contoured shapes. Makeup in the style of the 90s will be a stylish, successful, and versatile timeless solution.

Life hack 1

Makeup artists recommend using two types of primer to ensure a flawless base that will last all day. You should try a formula for blending around the perimeter of the face and a smoothing primer to prepare the T-zone.

"Use thin layers of the product on specific points of the face instead of generously applying primers on top of each other. This will allow the skin to breathe and preserve the natural effect we are trying to achieve," said Childs.

Life hack 2

Choose a lightweight foundation that suits your skin type. Forget about dense, rich formulas. Use a thick blending brush to spread the product evenly. Foundation formulas should provide the perfect combination of wet shine and matte effects to create a natural glow.

Life hack 3

To mask dark circles under the eyes, use concealer. You can also apply it around the nose, on the chin, and forehead. Apply a thin layer of balm, cream, or serum containing moisturizing ingredients beforehand. In the case of mature skin, a liquid foundation can slide into wrinkles and create an unattractive mask effect.

Life hack 4

Do not forget about blush – it should be blended all over the cheekbones and across the nose. Bronzers are also back in trend.

To fix the makeup on the under-eye and T-zone, Childs uses a small fluffy brush with light loose powder. This soft approach to the application allows the natural texture of the skin to show through the makeup.

Life hack 5

Eyebrows are not easy: in the 90s, the trend for thin threaded eyebrows reigned supreme, but do not rush to take out the tweezers again. Nowadays, natural eyebrows are in trend. The best thing you can do with them is just gently comb them or emphasize the shape with shadows, pencil, or light gel.

Life hack 6

The trend in eye makeup is for neutrality. Choose brown shades – matte or with a shimmering effect. Childs advised a universal makeup: apply a cool brown eyeshadow on the upper eyelid and under the lower lash line. Next, apply dark brown eyeliner to the upper and lower lash line, softening it with a blending brush. Finally, add light eyeshadow to the brow area and inner corner of the eyes and apply mascara to the upper and lower lashes.

Life hack 7

Use a pencil to outline the lips and blend it gently to blur any overly defined lines. You can also add a few artificial freckles with a felt-tip pen or improvise with a brown liner or eye shadow.
