More than 3,300 homes remain flooded after Kakhovka dam blast.

As a result of Russia’s blowing up of the Kakhovka HPP dam, more than 3,300 Ukrainian homes remain flooded.

Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko said this in a video address, Ukrinform reports.

"For the third day, all of Ukraine is struggling with the consequences of the disaster caused by the attack of the Russian armed forces on the Kakhovka HPP. As of now (Thursday evening – ed.), 2,272 people have been evacuated, 3,375 homes of our citizens remain flooded,” Klymenko said.

He added that 62 watercraft, rescuers, and volunteers were involved in rescuing people from the territory of Ostriv district in Kherson. In addition, according to the minister, the rescue of people from Bashtanka district in Mykolaiv region is ongoing. Klymenko clarified that about 800 citizens have already been evacuated from there.

As reported by Ukrinform, in the early hours of June 6, the Russian army blew up the Kakhovka HPP dam. As of the morning of June 8, 600 square kilometers of Kherson region were under the water, while an average level of flooding was 5.61 meters.
