Ukraine's chances have decreased, and the potential winner has gained a lot of ground: bookmakers have updated their bets on Eurovision 2024.

This week's betting odds rankings, while not revealing a new leader to Eurovision fans, did change. No one dropped out of the top five performers, but their chances of winning were slightly adjusted.

For example, the Eurovision favorite Baby Lasagna from Croatia has consolidated its good result, but for Ukraine, the situation has started to look a little worse. The current rating can be tracked on the Eurovision World website.

Less than a week ago, Baby Lasagna with his incendiary contest track Rim Tim Tagi Dim, according to bookmakers, could win the crystal microphone with a 15% probability. Although this gave him the lead, it did not guarantee a landslide victory, as Ukraine had 14%.

The same week, the Croatian's chances increased to 20%, while his main competitors – alyona alyona & Jerry Heil – have 12%. This is almost the first time in many months that one of the participants of this year's contest has achieved such a large gap from the Ukrainians.

It is also disappointing that Italy is "breathing down the neck" of the Ukrainian contestants with the current result of 10%.

The top five also includes Switzerland, which will be represented by Nemo with the song The Code, and the Netherlands, which will be represented by Joost Klein with the track Europapa.

It is worth reminding that the Croatian participant was not announced as one of the 25 finalists of the National Selection in his country, but he was offered the role of an understudy in case one of the main contestants is unable to perform. And so it happened.

Imagine the jury's surprise when Baby Lasagna became the undisputed winner, receiving the highest scores from the audience and international judges.

ADVERTISIMENT

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Eurovision 2024 will take place in May in the Swedish city of Malmö. Ukraine will perform in the first semifinal with the song Teresa & Maria.
