Sowing calendar for April: what days should plants be planted and grafted.

Moon phases in April 2024

From April 1 to April 7, the moon will be waning. This period is also called the waning or rotten moon phase. It is advised to pay special attention to the root system of plants. You can plant tubers, onion plants, and root crops, as well as fertilize and prune plants, and take measures to protect them from pests.

During the new moon period, which falls on the 8th of April, nothing is usually planted. No fertilizers, no sowing, no planting, no reproduction – our ancestors considered this period to be completely unfavorable for gardening. The only thing that could be done was pruning or preventive maintenance in the garden.

The moon will grow from April 9 to 23. Experts advise planting vegetables, herbs, grasses, and ornamental crops.

The full moon will come on April 24. You can do everything related to the reproduction and pruning of plants, as well as take care of pest control.

From April 25 to April 30, the Moon will be waning again.

Favorable and unfavorable days

You can sow seeds for seedlings on April 1, 2, 5, 6, 10, 11, 14, 15, 21-23, and 25-30.

Any work with the soil (digging, hoeing, cultivation) can be carried out on April 3-5, 7-9, 24 and 25.

For seed germination , April 1, 2, 5, 6, 10, 11, 14, 15, 21-23, 29, and 30 will be favorable, and for thinning and picking – April 1, 2, 21, 22, 29, 30.

Favorable dates for watering the beds are April 1, 2, 5, 6, 10, 11, 14, 15, 21-25, 29, and 30.

It is best to apply organic fertilizers on April 1, 2, 5, 6, 25, 29, and 30, and mineral fertilizers on April 10, 11, 14, and 15.

It is better to prune and shape trees on April 8, 24-30.

April 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 21-23 are favorable dates for grafting and pinching .

Measures to combat diseases and pests should be taken on April 3-5, 7, 8, 12, 13.

The following dates are suitable for cleaning the site and repairing tools : April 3, 4, 7, 8, 16-28.

And there will not be many unfavorable days in April: 3, 4, 7-9, 24. At this time, you should refrain from gardening and gardening.
