How to clean glass doors and windows to a shine: a win-win method.

Glass doors and windows are not only decorative elements but also something that lets sunlight into our homes and makes them cozy and comfortable. However, keeping them clean and transparent is not easy.

Raindrops, dust, insects, etc. make glass dirty and dull over time. That's why home improvement expert Miles Robinson shared a budget-friendly and effective way to clean windows.

Of course, you can use a soft microfiber cloth and high-quality detergents to clean glass surfaces, but this is quite expensive and not environmentally friendly. Microfiber cloths have to be changed frequently, and glass cleaners use far from the most useful substances.

However, there is an equally effective way to clean the glasses. You will need:

  • vinegar
  • water
  • newspaper

Robinson is an expert in budget solutions, so he advised using crumpled newspapers and a solution of water and white vinegar to clean your windows and glass doors.

According to him, newspaper fibers have natural absorbent properties and a fine texture that makes them ideal for producing clean glass without stains or streaks. They are much more effective than cotton cloths and paper towels because they leave almost no residue.

How to clean glass with newspaper

First, dust the glass surface with a dry cloth.

Next, mix white vinegar with water and pour the solution into a spray bottle. Take an old newspaper and crush it well to make it soft.

Spray the cleaning solution on the glass, leave it on for a few minutes, and then use the crumpled newspaper to rub it in a circular motion. After that, take this one dry piece of newspaper and polish the dry glass with it to get rid of the remaining streaks.
