Russian tourists caused chaos in a Phuket hospital: a man refused to pay his bills and a woman threatened with a baseball bat.

In the popular resort of Phuket, Thailand, Russians frightened locals in a hospital because of their unwillingness to pay medical bills. As support, the aggressive man invited a woman with him, who allegedly defended him from others with a baseball bat. Recently, Russians have begun to "show" their culture of behavior and manners to the locals more often, forcing people to turn to law enforcement and communities.

According to the local media outlet The Phuket News, a man named Sergey Chent had to pay 8380 baht (9 thousand UAH) for medical services, and his unexpected behavior was supposedly intended to intimidate people. However, at the police station, he merely paid the debt and was not punished, and according to the head of Wachira Hospital, where the incident occurred, Mentawee Maniesri, it was a simple misunderstanding.

The source reports that the man planned to receive free treatment, without paying for medical services either by insurance or physically. He appeared twice in Vachira, where during his last visit Sergey Chent was asked to pay a debt, to which he snapped and threatened with connections to law enforcement, his wealth and personal influence.

As Maneesri later explained, the Russian "wanted to scare her, acted like a mafia and claimed to have a lot of business in Phuket and know big people."

"I just want to let the Russian community know that its members should not behave like this person. Please stay in Phuket in peace and maintain good relations. This is the message I want to convey," she said.

The aggressive man was accompanied by a woman with a basketball bat, whom law enforcement officers called "Mr. Cheng's girlfriend."

It was at that time that Prime Minister Sretta Tavisin arrived on the island, with the purpose of his visit to emphasize the importance of respecting the law to all citizens and tourists.

"Don't let the foreign mafia settle in your area of responsibility and ruin the region's investment attractiveness. Ask local officials and politicians to keep an eye on foreigners. Don't let foreigners who behave badly ruin your credibility," he emphasized the terrible behavior of Russians.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that another Russian man caused a riot on the streets of Phuket, a popular Thai resort. He knocked down as many as seven power poles with his car, which left several blocks without electricity and communication.
