Fury has decided to say goodbye to his WBC championship.

The promoter of WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) commented on the press conference of World Boxing Council (WBC) belt holder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). The Briton spoke in Morkham, England, where he said that he had promised to beat Usyk and frankly told how he felt about the Ukrainian.

Oleksandr Krasiuk is sure that it was actually the Gypsy King's farewell performance as world heavyweight champion.

"It was a farewell requiem. Tyson Fury gathered the media to say goodbye to his WBC championship belt. I'm sure they were a little embarrassed to admit it directly, so they tried to act confident. But the real fact that I heard was that there were predictions that the fight would end early. The fight will really be stopped at the distance," said Krasiuk in an interview with World Boxing News.

The reports that "Usyk may step aside" to allow Fury to fight Joshua (AJ) if Gypsy King manages to win on May 18, Krasiuk did not even discuss.

"It's not a subject for discussion, because Tyson can't win. But Fury's defeat doesn't cancel a possible match between AJ and Gypsy King, as they can determine who will lose more," said Krasiuk.

The World Boxing News journalists emphasize that the promoter's unwavering confidence that Usyk would take Fury's title and become the undisputed leader in two weight classes has never wavered since day one.

"Krasiuk has seen enough in Usyk to confidently predict that he will do the same job with Fury that he did twice with Anthony Joshua. Doubts about whether Usyk can handle Fury's size are widespread in the United Kingdom. However, Krasiuk is one hundred percent confident that his fighter has all the tools in his arsenal to fight back against the 206 cm tall two-time champion," the article says.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk spoke about the problem with holding the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury on May 18. The Ukrainian boxer himself named the main strength of the opponent.
