The most successful yeast dough for Easter cake: it will rise and be fluffy for sure.

The most popular dough for delicious Easter cake among Ukrainian housewives is yeast dough. Live yeast is used because it makes the dough very loose and porous. The most important thing is to follow the correct sequence and proportions.

The idea of preparing the perfect yeast dough for Easter cake was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Sofia with the nickname gubenia.sofiia. While the Easter cake is being prepared, the house should be quiet so that the holiday baking is successful.

Ingredients:

  • milk - 125 ml.
  • live yeast - 30 g
  • sugar - 100 g
  • flour - 300 g
  • butter - 80 g
  • egg yolks - 4 pcs.
  • egg - 1 pc.
  • raisins - 100 g

Ingredients for the dough:

  • milk - 50 ml (warm from the total amount)
  • flour - 2 tbsp
  • sugar - 1 tbsp
  • yeast

How to make the bread starter:

Mix everything, cover with plastic wrap and set aside for 20 minutes.

How to make choux pastry:

1. Take 3 tbsp of flour from the total amount of flour, pour the rest of the milk (the milk should be hot).

2. Stir and set aside.

3. Add sugar and 1 egg to the yolks.

4. Beat with a mixer until light and fluffy for 5 minutes.

5. Add the brew and choux pastry, beat again.

6. Gradually add the flour and beat with a mixer first.

7. At the end, stir with a spatula.

8. Knead the dough by hand and add the melted butter in parts. At first, the dough is very sticky to the hands - then it becomes elastic.

9. Pour in the raisins, mix, cover with foil and put in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours.

10. Stir with a spatula and form cakes.

11. Put into molds and leave to rise for another 30 minutes.

12. Bake until tender at 170 degrees.
