«Servant of People» Hryshchuk: Provision on demobilization would have been removed anyway - if not by Rada, then by General Staff in 2025.
The decision to remove the provision on demobilization from the new draft law would have been made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine if the Verkhovna Rada had not done so.
This was stated by People's Deputy from the Servant of the People Roman Hryshchuk in an interview with LIGA.net, Censor.NET reports.
According to the People's Deputy, the removal of the demobilization provision from the draft law was a "big mistake" because people were first given hope and then it was taken away.
At the same time, he said, this decision would have been made later, in March 2025, by the General Staff.
"We could have continued this mistake if we had adopted [the provision] at this stage, because we would have been feeding hope again and time would have passed. And then the General Staff would have had to make the decision that the Verkhovna Rada has now made," Hryshchuk said.
The people's deputy noted that it is necessary to find a formula for the demobilization of the military. He emphasized that he believes that the right developments will be made in the future.
The People's Deputy said that while working on the draft law, he was responsible for the educational part, which, in particular, addressed issues related to the abuse of higher education to defer mobilization.

"After several iterations, we came up with a formula that looks fair enough: if you get a degree for the first time, regardless of age, you have [a deferment from mobilization], but only the second time you do not. I think there will also be a correct formula for demobilization," Hryshchuk added.
