TV series about the wife of the French president in production.

A TV series about the life of French First Lady Brigitte Macron is in production. The Gaumont production company has announced that a six-episode series titled Brigitte, A Free Woman will be "composed of a collection of short stories" about the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron.

The first episode will show the first meeting of the couple. The BBC reminds that Brigitte first met her future husband when she was a teacher at his school.

The couple married in 2007 when Emmanuel was only 29 years old and his teacher was 54. She continued to teach for some time but quit her job in 2015 when her husband began to engage in politics. Ten years later, in 2017, he was elected president.

The script for the new series will be written by French writers Bénédicte Charles and Olivier Pouponneau. The First Lady's office said that they "have nothing to do with this project, which we learned about from the press today."

The cast of the series has not yet been announced.

Gaumont is a French film studio that is considered one of the oldest film studios in the world. However, it is famous not for this but for its films. These are, for example, Besson's films Leon and The Fifth Element. The most famous TV series of the studio include Highlander and Lupin.

It was also this company that produced the Ukrainian series In Her Car (the 10-episode film describes the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine).

As reported earlier, Mrs. Macron joined the filming of the fourth season of the popular Netflix series Emily in Paris. The 70-year-old woman will appear in one of the episodes as a cameo, i.e. as herself. The First Lady is an ardent fan of the series.
