Almost 3800 crimes of RF military against children are being investigated in Ukraine - Lubinets.

In Ukraine, about 3,800 criminal proceedings are being investigated into the fact that the Russian military committed war crimes against Ukrainian children.

According to Censor.NET, citing Ukrinform, this was stated by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets during the presentation of the analytical note "Anniversary of the arrest warrants for Putin and Lvova-Belova for the deportation of Ukrainian children: what did it bring and what will happen next?"

"Today, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are investigating about 3,800 criminal proceedings on the fact that the Russian military committed war crimes against Ukrainian children. This procedure is ongoing. We are convinced that the number of crimes will increase, as well as the number of official criminal proceedings. The process of identifying criminals, collecting evidence and bringing perpetrators to justice at the national level is ongoing. At the same time, the Prosecutor General's Office is closely cooperating with the ICC," said Lubinets.

According to him, as of today, within the framework of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, Ukraine is making great efforts to document the crimes of Russians and return the children home.

The Ukrainian ombudsman stated that neither Russian President Vladimir Putin nor Russian children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova, who are involved in the case of the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children and against whom the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants more than a year ago, have been punished for their actions and continue to influence the process of slowing down the return of actually abducted Ukrainian children.

"And all this is against the background of the fact that, according to our data, lists of Ukrainian children for deportation are still being compiled. Obviously, in such circumstances... we need to look for new approaches, to use new tools. First of all, we hope that the international community will help us in this," Lubinets said.

The Human Rights Ombudsman noted that there is an understanding that thousands of representatives of the Russian authorities have been and continue to be involved in the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children.
