AFU General Staff: 79 combat engagements were recorded over last day, enemy mostly attacked in Avdiivka direction.

The 786th day of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against our country continues. During the day, 79 combat engagements were recorded.

Shelling of Ukraine

In total, the enemy launched 25 missile and 52 air strikes, fired 42 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.

The situation in the North

The situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions remained unchanged. There are no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups.

On the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas and conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities. The enemy conducted an air strike near the village of Volfyne in the Sumy region. More than 10 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, resulting in civilian casualties.

Hostilities in the East

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Stepova Novoselivka in Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled nine attacks near the settlements of Tverdokhlibove, Kreminna in the Luhansk region and Terny in the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defense of our troops. The enemy also conducted air strikes near the towns of Ivanivka, Yampolivka, and Torske in the Donetsk region. Artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 10 settlements, including Makiivka, Nevske in the Luhansk region and Terny and Torske in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, our troops repelled 15 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation. The enemy also carried out air strikes near the settlements of Druzhba, Ivanivske, and New York in the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Hryhorivka, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 26 attacks near Novokalynove, Ocheretyne, Berdychi, Umanske, Pervomaiske, Nevelske in the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to force our units out of their positions. The enemy also launched air strikes near the towns of Yurivka and Novopokrovske in the Donetsk region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Ocheretyne, Novobakhmutivka, and Umanske in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinity of Novomykhailivka and Pobieda in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defense of our troops 16 times. The enemy also conducted air strikes near the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Urozhaine, Vodiane, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region.

Hostilities in the South

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, attacked the positions of our defenders 4 times near Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region, and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region. He carried out air strikes near the settlements of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region, and Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Chervone, Bilohiria, Shcherbaky, and Piatykhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy does not abandon its intention to force our units out of the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, during the day, with the support of aviation, he carried out 6 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our troops near the village of Krynky in the Kherson region. He also conducted an air strike near Ivanivka in the Kherson region. About 20 settlements, including Tiahynka, Ivanivka, Novotiahynka, Poniativka in the Kherson region, were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks.
