Venice Canals Empty as Coronavirus Lockdown Extended in Italy.


The streets and canal-sides of Venice remain deserted after the Italian government extended a lockdown aimed at curbing the coronavirus epidemic, Saturday, April 11. The coronavirus lockdown was extended, Friday.

In footage released by Venice City Hall, volunteers with the civil protection agency were seen delivering 1,000 food packages donated by the city council for families affected by the shutdown.

Italy has been in lockdown for more than a month.
