Muslim devotees bowed together in India as they attended the first Friday prayers of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, during which Muslims fast, refraining from food and drink from dawn to dusk.
The fast is usually broken with a meal that includes dates and sweet juices. (Reuters)
