La Palma Volcano Spews Lava Into Night Sky

A volcano on the Spanish island of La Palma continued to spew lava and black smoke Thursday evening.

The airport on the island shut down again earlier in the day due to ash fall from the volcano that has been erupting for almost three weeks.

Scientists said the course of the eruption was unpredictable.

The lava has forced the evacuation of more than 6,000 people and destroyed more than 600 houses.
