Montmartre Harvests Grapes for Own Brand of Paris Wine.

Winegrowers at the Montmartre vineyard in the French capital, Monday, October 4, started their annual grape picking season, which comes during a year wrought with weather-related hiccups.

A Parisian tradition for more almost 90 years, the grape picking season celebrates the French capital's largest vineyard, with more than 1,700 grapevines spread across more than 1,500 square meters in the touristic neighborhood.

Vineyard worker Vincent Bolenor said a total of 731 kilos of grapes have been gathered in the "pre-grape picking" process to make the neighborhood's own brand of red wine.

He said this year's season is a "mixed" one - bearing a good harvest despite the heavy rains and the late frosts that ravaged winemaking areas in much of the country this year.
