MEET the men fleeing Russia amid mobilisation efforts and protests as the war in Ukraine rumbles on.

More than 2,300 people were detained across Russia at protests against mobilization, the office of the High Commissioner for human rights said on Tuesday (September 27), a week after President Vladimir Putin ordered Russia's first military draft since World War Two.

“According to credible reports, some 2,377 demonstrators had been arrested since last Wednesday (September 21) in various locations across the country. It is unclear how many people remain in detention,” Ravina Shamdasani, U.N. human rights spokeswoman told a news briefing in Geneva.
