Demolition Leaves Hundreds Homeless in Kenya’s Slums.

Hundreds of slum residents in Kenya’s capital of Nairobi are now homeless after the country’s railway company began demolition work on its land.

The railway company said the residents of the slum were squatting on the site illegally and needed to begin demolition to help pay pensions for its employees.

The residents are arguing they were given no notice to vacate. A statement from the railway company said the squatters were warned. (AP)
