Thousands of revelers crowded the streets of London, July 2, 2022, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the London Gay Pride parade.
The parade was led by some of the veterans of the LGBT+ movement in the United Kingdom, some of whom took part in the country's first Pride in 1972, and retraced some of the original march's route.
This year’s three-hour-long march attracted a record number of people, organizers said. The parade had been on hold for more than two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
London's Pride parade was expected to be one of the biggest worldwide with 30,000 participants and 1.5 million visitors coming to the British capital to witness the milestone anniversary, the event's organizers said before the event.
