MIRACLE moment two-year-old girl pulled alive from rubble after 79 hours in Turkey.
Seventy-nine hours after powerful earthquakes hit southern Turkey, rescue teams pulled a two-year-old baby alive Thursday, Feb. 9 from the rubble of collapsed building.
The baby Mert Tatar, who was rescued from under the quake debris in the Hatay province, was referred to a hospital after first aid at the scene.
The number of people who died in powerful earthquakes in southern Turkey has surpassed 12,000, a government agency said early Thursday.
Turkey disaster management agency, AFAD, said 12,391 people were killed and 62,914 others were injured in Monday’s quakes centred in Kahramanmaras province.
More than 6,000 buildings collapsed due to the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude quakes that occurred in the space of less than 10 hours.
