Another fissure blew open on the volcano-hit Spanish island of La Palma, Friday, October 1, as authorities recorded eight new earthquakes.
The new fissure is the third to crack open since the Cumbre Vieja crater erupted on September 19.
Authorities were waiting to see whether lava from the new fissure would join the main river that has reached the sea.
Prompt evacuations of more than 6,000 people avoided casualties. (AP)
