TEXAS GOP Governor Greg Abbott will be funding his own border wall along the Mexico-US border just as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced he would send police to Texas and Arizona to help with their border problems.
The Republican governor announced plans for such a project on Wednesday, saying the $250 million "down payment" would go to hiring a project manager and contractors to construct the wall, which would be partially funded by donations.
Abbott even made a website for people to send money to support the project, just a week after he pleaded with other governors - including DeSantis - for help on the border.
Simultaneously, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced his state would send police to Texas and Arizona to help with the current border crisis.
DeSantis' message came after Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey sent a letter asking the governors of the other 48 states for help on the border.
"The Biden administration ended effective policies that have been implemented by President Donald Trump to curb illegal immigration across the Southern border," said DeSantis.
