Hindus Take to Ganges River for Festival
Hundreds gathered to celebrate the Hindu festival of Makar Sankranti on the banks of the Ganges river in India, Thursday, January 14.
Submerging oneself in the Ganges on this day is considered a sacred right by Hindus.
The devotees gathered in masses throughout the morning, despite the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Police were on hand, reminding people to follow anti-virus protocols to varying levels of success. (AP)
