Gas Truck Explodes in Peru Leaving 2 Dead and Dozens Injured.

A tanker truck carrying gas exploded in a residential area of Lima, Peru, leaving at least two people dead and about 50 injured, Thursday, January 23.

According to witnesses, the explosion occurred when the truck hit a pothole that damaged the bottom of the truck and caused a gas leak.

The truck driver attempted to close the valves to stop the gas from escaping but was unable to do so.

The fire spread to over a dozen houses. (REUTERS)
