The first local lockdown in England is set to be enforced in Leicester, after coronavirus cases spiked in the city.
The easing of COVID-19 restrictions across the country, which is set to take effect on July 4 will not apply within the East Midlands city, with schools closing and pubs, restaurants, cafes, hairdressers and barbers remaining shut.
A total of 10% of all positive coronavirus cases in the country in the past week occurred in Leicester.
