PRESIDENT Joe Biden told PBS NewsHour on Wednesday (February 8) relations with China have not taken a big hit, and that the United States would compete with Beijing.
China says an airship recently downed by the United States was used for meteorological and other scientific purposes. U.S. military leaders say the balloon was used for surveillance over U.S. territory.
Asked if relations between the U.S. and China had taken a big hit, Biden said: "No, no."
Biden also said Wednesday he did not believe the U.S. economy will fall into a recession either this year or next year.
Biden was asked in an interview on the PBS NewsHour program whether he thought there would be a recession this year, Biden responded: "No, or next year. From the moment I got elected, how many of the experts are saying within the next six months there's gonna be recession?"
