Drone video shot on Sunday (August 14) shows football matches on dried out pitches on London's famous Hackney Marshes.
The recent heatwaves and drought have left the land - which features 82 football, rugby and cricket pitches - to the east of the capital a uniform pale brown.
England recorded its driest July since 1935, with only 35% of the average rainfall for the month.
The government formally declared eight of 14 areas in England in drought on Friday (August 12), following an extended period of hot, dry weather.
