The judge in Alex Murdaugh's murder trial is set to decide whether to admit evidence of the suspect's alleged financial crimes as a possible motive in the 2021 killings of his wife and son in South Carolina. Prosecutors were expected to bring more witnesses Friday morning to discuss those allegations without the jury present. Murdaugh, a once-powerful attorney who also faces a slew of charges related to money laundering, tax evasion and other financial crimes, has pleaded not guilty.
