Huge Crowds Gather in Northern India to Celebrate Hindu Festival.
A huge number of devotees gathered in India's northern Kullu district, Friday, October 15, despite COVID-19, as a weeklong fair celebrating the Hindu festival of Dussehra began.
Dussehra marks the triumph of good over evil. It is regarded as the day when Hindu god prince Ram defeated Ravan, demon-king of Lanka and rescued his abducted wife, Sita.
Devotees pulled a decorated chariot of Hindu God Raghunath (Lord Rama) and palanquins with over 200 deities, as they participated in the procession during the International Kullu Dussehra, flouting social distancing and mask norms.
